Economic Conditions Choke Sales

• Much like the automotive and retail sectors, the primary challenges for motorsports dealers, whether motorcycles, ATVs or personal watercraft (PWC), are more demand than inventory available and inflation’s effect on prices, which shrinks customer numbers.
• Of the dealers who responded to a Powersports Business Q3 2022 survey, 59% reported their Q3 sales increased YOY, compared to 65% who said their Q3 2021 sales increased YOY. Half (50%) said they didn’t have enough inventory to satisfy demand.
• The latest data (representing more than 60% of all US motorsports dealers) from CDK Lightspeed DMS revealed overall revenue at all dealerships increased just 1.3% YOY during November 2022. The table on page 1 of the Profiler contrasts the US regions.
