• Most consumer brands, retail verticals and industries have suffered business interruptions and financial losses during the pandemic. Arguably, the restaurant industry suffered the most, even with the rapid adoption of online ordering and delivery.
• The National Restaurant Association (NRA) reveals the toll: total industry sales of $799 billion were $65 billion less than 2019. There were one million fewer restaurant employees than 2019 and 90,000 restaurants were temporarily or permanently closed.
