2022–2023 Season Sets a New Record

• When the snow is abundant and lingers beyond the average last day of the snowsports season, then records are set as was during the 2022–2023 season when there were 64.7 million skier visits, a 6.6% YOY increase from the record-setting 2021–2022 season.
• Ski Area Management magazine polled ski operators during April 2023 and only 6% thought total visits for the season would exceed 63 million. Most of those surveyed (30.2%) thought the total would be between 59.1 million and 60.0 million.
• Regionally, the Rocky Mountain states also broke its 2021–2022 season record with a total of 27.9 million visits during the 2022–2023 season. The 4.5 million visits in Northwestern states were also a new record. The Northeast’s visits increased despite less snow.
